Emergency Communications - ''Go-Box''
In 2009, after seeing many similar projects all over the internet, I decided that I would build my own mobile emergency radio go-box. I set off to the hardware store to get some ideas. I found a toolbox that would suit my needs, so back I went to the shop and started on my new project. After some careful thought, I finally decided on a layout and started drilling holes for my coax and wiring. In my set up you will find the following: for hf (Yaesu ft-100d), for vhf (Icom ic-281h), and for uhf (Yaesu ft-8000r). Also, in my go-box there's a Ldg z100 autotuner for the hf rig, a 30amp Jetstream power supply, a PWrgate pg40s, and a RIGrunner 4005. The battery is a deep cell marine 100ah that sits nicely in a marine battery box. I am very proud of this project build and look forward to many hours of fun in the field. For more photos, clik here.
